Wightlink Welcomes OFT Announcement

Wightlink welcome today’s announcement from the OFT that it is minded not to refer the cross-Solent ferry market to the Competition Commission for further investigation.

The cross-Solent ferry market is highly competitive and we are confident that the OFT’s final report will demonstrate that the market is working well for our customers.

Wightlink have invested heavily in new vessels and shore-side infrastructure.  New ferries are operating on the Lymington-Yarmouth route and our new catamarans are due to enter into service on the Portsmouth-Ryde route later this summer.

Wightlink are committed to continuing to invest in and develop the business and to improving customer service and we look forward to continuing to work with the OFT pending publication of its final report.
