Wightlink Opens New Coffee Quay At Portsmouth Harbour Terminal

Wightlink Isle of Wight Ferries, the market leader in cross Solent ferry services, has recently opened the new Coffee Quay store at its Portsmouth Harbour FastCat Terminal.

Hot on the heels of the new Quay Convenience store at Wightlink’s Gunwharf car ferry Terminal in Portsmouth, work started on the new Coffee Quay at the beginning of May.  Installation commenced 14th May and the work was carried out over a three week period by Contrast Shop Fitters from Fareham and Bardon Electrics based in Horndean. Other local contractors also provided the signage.

One of the best parts of the new retail operation at Coffee Quay is the new Bake ‘n’ Bite facility, which sells freshly prepared sandwiches, baguettes and tasty hot food.

As well as this, Coffee Quay sells newspapers, magazines, fresh food, coffee, beer, wine, soft drinks and a range of toys and stationery.

The Portsmouth Harbour FastCat terminal now has an airport style feel about it, with the new layout taking customers through the retail operation before they board their FastCat to Ryde.

With Wightlink’s head office at Broad Street shortly being relocated some old photographs have become available and historical pictures of Ryde Pierhead throughout the years now adorn the walls of the passenger lounge alongside Coffee Quay, showing how Ryde used to be in the old days.

Commenting on the opening of the new Coffee Quay, Kerry Jackson, Marketing Manager of Wightlink Isle of Wight Ferries, said:-

“Coffee Quay is a great new facility for our passengers at Portsmouth Harbour.  Whilst they are waiting for their FastCat they can enjoy fresh quality food, a range of excellent coffees and teas and a selection of alcohol, as well as being able to buy newspapers, magazines and gifts. It all goes towards enhancing the travel experience of passengers travelling with Wightlink.”
