Ensuring Safe Accessible Travel

book

Many of our Ticket Offices and ships were built before the Disability Discrimination Act came into force, but we endeavour to ensure that as much of Wightlink as possible is accessible to all our passengers with a disability.

To ensure that the best possible service is provided customers should make Wightlink staff aware of their needs at the time of booking and on arrival at the ports of departure.

Facilities onboard our car ferries

On both the Portsmouth - Fishbourne route and the Lymington – Yarmouth route all ferries have lifts between the car decks and passenger lounges. There are disabled toilet facilities on the same level as the passenger lounges.

We recommend you advise us at the time of booking and on arrival at the port if you require access to the lift, but please be aware that we cannot guarantee to place your vehicle beside the lift as there is limited space in this area of the ship.

Ramps are available to help wheelchair users access the lift from and to the car decks.

Guide/Assistance Dogs

Assistance dogs travel free of charge on all of our vessels, they are not restricted to travelling in the areas designated to other animals.
