About IOW Garlic Festival
The IOW Garlic Festival 2018 promises to be one of the most incredible yet. Since its inception in 1983, the Festival has grown to become one of the Island’s biggest and most eagerly anticipated events. This year, visitors can expect the absolute best in food entertainment, with live food and cookery displays in the Festival’s theatre kitchen. The event centres around Britain’s most pungent and delicious garlic, with garlic products, garlic-infused meals, and garlic-themed crafts on sale, plus plenty of cookery demonstrations showing garlic fans how to get the absolute most out of the Isle of Wight’s flavoursome bulbs. You can even try some garlic fudge!
There are also children’s entertainers and talented animals, an exciting fun fair, local businesses and market stalls showing their wares, live music on the large stage, and a wealth of scrumptious foods. Meats, cheeses, honey wine, biscuits, ice cream, mushrooms, bread…if you can possibly pair garlic with it, you’ll find it here (visitors are advised to arrive hungry). Wash it all down with some beer from the beer tent, and you’ve got a recipe for the perfect family day out.
2018 has a packed entertainment schedule, with The Wurzels – of ‘Combine Harvester’ and ‘I’m a cider drinker’ fame – Abba-Chich and The Jersey Guys all performing.
