Vacancy: Rating (Lymington to Yarmouth Fixed Term)

We are looking for smart, enthusiastic, customer focused individuals to join our deck crews for 2024 on board our ferries on the Lymington – Yarmouth Route.

  • Lymington to Yarmouth ferries

  • £16.76 per hour

  • Starting 12 February 2024

  • Eight to nine month contract

Key elements of the role are:

  • Welcoming and helping customers
  • Operating when required as a helmsman
  • Assisting with the loading and discharging of vehicles
  • Mooring operations
  • Regular deck patrols
  • Cleaning and maintenance
  • Regular safety exercises to enhance emergency preparedness

Are you looking for an exciting opportunity for 2024? Our Fleet Operations team is looking for smart, enthusiastic, customer focused individuals to join our deck crews on board our ferries on our Lymington – Yarmouth Route.

Applicants must be 18 years or over and have a desire to work on ship in a team environment.

Previous experience is not essential and you can expect to receive full training and familiarisation, including all applicable safety and emergency procedures, a friendly working environment and a competitive salary.

Successful candidates will be friendly, courteous and helpful in their communications with customers; reliable, conscientious and flexible in their approach to their duties. A good standard of education, numeracy and literacy skills are essential. Safety is a critical element of our operation, so the ability to respond positively to instruction and to communicate clearly and with confidence are also essential features of the role.

As a Rating, you will employed on an eight-month fixed term contract to initially train to cover our spring/summer period commencing February 2024. You will be required to work across all days of the week including weekends and Bank Holidays.
