10.00 Depart Portsmouth.

10.35 Arrive Fishbourne.

Picturesque drive through the villages of Seaview and St Helens.

11.10 Arrive Bembridge National Trust.

Bembridge Windmill.

  • Explore this 17th-century windmill.
  • Take the five minute stroll into the village visiting the various shops, busy harbour or walk along the beach to the working lifeboat station.

12.15 Depart Bembridge.

Coastal drive via Sandown and Shanklin.

13.15 Arrive at Niton.

St Catherine's Point & Lighthouse.

  • The southern-most tip of the island providing island wide views and visit the 19th-century lighthouse.

The Buddle Inn

  • Good for pub meals, stands on a terrace looking out to sea with a stream ('buddle') running through its gardens.

15.30 Depart Niton.

Drive past Compton and Freshwater Bays and over Tennyson Down.

16.00 Arrive at The Needles

Needles Old Battery & Tea Rooms.

  • Built in 1863, as part of Lord Palmerston's plans to defend Portsmouth, this headland commands spectacular coastal views.

17.00 Depart The Needles.

17.30 Depart Yarmouth.

18.05 Arrive Lymington.
