We know how important it is to provide up to date travel information to our customers. We update the Service status section of our website routinely every morning and again if more than one sailing is delayed by 20 minutes or more since the last message was posted. We’ll post another update if delays reach an hour or longer and when we return normal service.
Good luck from Wightlink to everyone taking part in the Simplyhealth Great South Run on Sunday, 22 October 2017.
As roads around our Gunwharf terminal will be closed during the race (between 09:30 and 13:00), we will be operating from the Portsmouth International Port (PiP) instead. The port is signposted as Cruise and Cross Channel Ferry services (postcode PO2 8SP).
Please allow extra time for your journey so you can check in promptly 30 minutes before departure. If you are booked to travel on the 10:00 sailing from our Portsmouth Gunwharf car ferry terminal, please arrive at 09:00 as the roads nearby will be closed from 09:30. The 09:00 from Fishbourne to Portsmouth will arrive at the usual port and then be escorted by police through Portsmouth away from road closures.
If you are travelling as a foot passenger, you can travel on our car ferries as usual but we can’t transport you to or from PiP. Bus services into the city will also be suspended. We recommend foot passengers use our Portsmouth to Ryde FastCat instead.

From Monday, 2 October 2017, the usual exit road at our Portsmouth car ferry terminal will be closed while the finishing touches are made to our new terminal structure. This work will take approximately six weeks.
Please take extra care when you’re driving away, following all signs, as the layout may be different to when you last travelled and vehicles may be joining your lane from the opposite side to what you may be used to.
Pedestrians can still use the footpath next to the exit road.
You can keep up to date with our improvement plans here.
