Portsmouth <> Ryde

Island Line engineering work from 12 January 2015 for 10 weeks

A major ten-week engineering project to repair the storm-damaged rail network on the Isle of Wight will begin on Monday 12 January.

Trains connecting the Pier Head and Esplanade will maintain connections with Wightlink’s Catamaran service but the line will be closed between Ryde St Johns Road and Shanklin so that a permanent repair can be made to stabilise the slope at Sandown.

During the engineering work, a rail replacement bus service will run between Shanklin Station, Lake (High Street), Sandown (Broadway), Brading (Bullring) and Ryde St Johns Station. A revised train service will operate between Ryde St Johns Road, Ryde Esplanade and Ryde Pier Head. Smallbrook Junction will not be served during this time.

Rail ticket holders will also be able to use Southern Vectis Route 2 and 3 service buses between Ryde and Shanklin in both directions.

Plans are also in place to provide additional coach services on school days for the benefit of schoolchildren.

Southern Gas Networks work from 12 January 2015 for 10 weeks

Ten weeks of works in Fishbourne Lane will begin on Monday 12 January.

Southern Gas Networks will be operating a 2-way traffic light system during the works which could cause delays to customers arriving at Wightlink’s Fishbourne Terminal.

Wightlink advise customers to allow extra time when arriving at Fishbourne to ensure check in 30 minutes before their booked sailing time.

Lymington <> Yarmouth
Thursday, 15 January, 2015 - Thursday, 12 February, 2015

Essential works affecting Yarmouth loading ramp

Wightlink will be carrying out planned maintenance work to the Yarmouth loading ramp for up to four weeks from Thursday, 15 January 2015.

Although we will do our best to minimise disruption to customers, we will need to load and unload vehicles using an alternative ramp.

We will not be able to carry articulated lorries, lorries with overhangs or steps, coaches, vehicles weighing more than 26 tons, vehicles with low ground clearance or trailers. Customers with these types of vehicles are advised to travel on our Fishbourne-Portsmouth route.

During the works, foot passengers will embark and disembark by the main vehicle deck.

We are sorry for any inconvenience caused by this essential maintenance. It is being carried out in conjunction with Yarmouth Harbour Commissioners.

St Clare deck 4 refurbishment 3-9 February 2015

We are carrying out a refurbishment of one of the passenger decks (deck four), which is closed to customers while we complete the work. However, our large comfortable deck five is still open and you will be able to buy drinks and snacks from our Costa Coffee shop there.

If you would like to use the disabled toilet or baby changing facilities, which are on deck four, please ask a member of staff who will be happy to escort you to them. These facilities are also available in our terminal buildings at Fishbourne and Portsmouth before driving on board.

If you are travelling with a dog, please leave your pet inside your vehicle during the crossing before making your way to the lounge.

We are sorry for the inconvenience caused by the work but we hope the next time you travel you will enjoy the many new features on deck four including a Greggs shop, Kids’ Zone, Teen Scene, and gaming area as well as comfortable new seating areas.
