Good to know…

  • Remember to follow the signs for Cruise and Cross Channel Ferries when driving into Portsmouth, rather than signs to Isle of Wight Ferries.
  • Always check-in on time and arrive at the port at least 30 minutes before the departure of your sailing.
  • You will travel through security at the Portsmouth International Port and this may involve a search.
  • You do not need a passport to enter Portsmouth International Port and drive onto the ferry. You will only need a passport if you are travelling in a freight vehicle (such as a lorry or van) and wish to access the terminal facilities.0

Portsmouth <> Fishbourne, Portsmouth <> Ryde
Tuesday, 13 September, 2016 - Saturday, 1 July, 2017

Commencing 13 September 2016 the car park at Gunwharf Road will be closed to the public throughout improvements works at Portsmouth Car Ferry Terminal.

Wightlink are now unable to sell Parking season tickets until late summer. This is because parking and space at our car park will be extremely limited over the next stage of our terminal improvement works.

Alternative parking is available at our Lymington terminal. We will advise passengers if we’re aware of any alternative parking arrangements that can be made.

We’re very sorry for the inconvenience this will cause.

Where are the nearest alternative car parks?
The closest car parks are at Gunwharf Quays (7 minute walk) and Wickham street (11 minute walk)

Thursday, 23 March, 2017 - Saturday, 15 April, 2017
Wheelchairs and mobility scooters: sorry, until further notice our catamaran sailings are currently not accessible for passengers with wheelchairs or mobility scooters. Customers with mobility problems may also find it more difficult to board and disembark. If you need any assistance, please call our free Reduced Mobility Helpline on 0800 0938 236, if possible at least 48 hours before travel. Cyclists and pushchairs may have to carry this equipment on board when using the replacement gangway.
This is because our manual walkway is being used while repairs are being made to our berth at Ryde Pier at our catamaran terminal.
We will update here when we have more information on when the repairs will be complete.

Monday, 27 March, 2017 - Saturday, 1 April, 2017

Western Yar Bridge Closure & Maintenance (A3054)

Island Roads will be conducting essential maintenance and repairs to the Western Yar Bridge from 08:00 on Monday, 27 March until 17:00 on Saturday, 1 April (times subject to change).

The alternative route for traffic during the works will be; A3054 Bridge Road, River Road, Tennyson Road and Bouldnor Road, B3401 Thorley Road, Wilmingham Lane, B3399 Newport Road, A3055 Afton Road, School Green Road, Tennyson Road and The Avenue, A3054 Colwell Road, Hill Lane and Halletts Shute. Light traffic up to 6ft 6in in width can also use Hooke Hill, Copse Lane and Pixley Hill.
