It’s now easier to travel from A to B to sea!

The Solent Go travelcard makes travelling by bus and ferry easier. Solent Go is a new, smart travelcard you top up yourself, which can be used to travel all over South Hampshire – on buses and ferries making your journey quick and seamless.

With a Solent Go travelcard you can get to the Isle of Wight with Wightlink as a foot passenger in just 22 minutes on the FastCat from Portsmouth to Ryde or from Portsmouth to Fishbourne in 45 minutes on the car ferry.

How can I get a Solent Go travelcard?

Sign up on the Solent Go website and select the Wightlink tickets you would like from the list. You have to buy a ticket when you apply for your Solent Go travelcard and it’s important to remember that your first purchase is limited to only one bus and one ferry ticket type. Solent Go will then send the Solent Go card to you.

Later top ups can be purchased on the Solent Go website with a mix of ticket and travel types. These tickets will then need to be downloaded via the Solent Go mobile app or a ticket vending machine.

Ticket vending machines can be found in Wightlink terminals at:

  • Portsmouth Harbour railway station
  • Portsmouth Car Ferry
  • Ryde Pier Head
  • Fishbourne Car Ferry

Useful things to know

  • Solent Go card must be shown upon request. If the card cannot be produced when requested a full price ticket must be purchased and the card holder can contact Solent Go to discuss a refund of the original ticket
  • Solent Go are not prioritised for foot travel above Wightlink Season Ticket holders
  • Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult of at least 16 years of age
  • There are no exclusion dates for travel
  • We do not apply any Disability or Concession discounts to the tickets
  • Solent Go card cannot be used to purchase vehicle tickets
  • Solent Go card cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer or promotion
  • Solent Go tickets cannot be purchased from Wightlink ticket office staff, website or the Contact Centre

Mobility Scooters must be battery powered.
Electric bikes must retain the ability to be pedalled by the rider.
Pushbikes, e-bikes and battery powered Mobility scooters travel free of charge when a customer purchases a foot passenger ticket.
