Wight on wheels

The Isle of Wight was tailor-made for great cycling with over 200 miles of cycle routes through some of the most scenic countryside in the UK. It’s just a short ferry crossing from the mainland, yet a real escape from everyday life with room to breathe. And the Island is a hot destination for a cycling holiday, short break or even a daytrip. What’s more, Wightlink carries bikes for free, or you can hire a bike when you’re here.

With over 30 miles of Heritage Coast and half the Island designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, there’s a great variety of terrain. From level countryside trails and quiet lanes to challenging hill climbs and everything in between, cyclists of all levels will enjoy an amazing pedal-powered experience.

So bring the family or a group of friends for a gentle ride down to the beach, through national nature reserves or to a friendly local pub. Or fine tune your mountain bike and head for the high downs where spectacular gradients and amazing sea views are guaranteed.

We’ve made it easy for you to find the perfect route for your cycling adventure.
