Wightlink customers are entertained on festive ferries

Seasonal entertainment from talented Isle of Wight singers and musicians has been getting Wightlink’s customers into the Christmas spirit during their crossings between Portsmouth and Fishbourne.

All the groups and individuals performing onboard are sponsored by the ferry company.

This year’s entertainers were the Isle of Wight Symphony Orchestra string quartet and solo viola player Andy Hicks, the Wight Notes Choir (part of Fusion Arts Academy) and the Way Forward choir.

“This has become a Christmas tradition,” explains Wightlink Commercial Director Phil Delaney. “The groups enjoy performing on our ferries and it’s a treat for our customers.”

The Wightlink in the Community sponsorship initiative focuses on helping groups that enhance the quality of life for people on the Isle of Wight, especially young Islanders. It currently provides discounted travel to 45 groups.
