This pretty park is surrounded by open countryside, and is a perfect base for walkers and cyclists. Also just minutes by car from the beaches of Shanklin, Sandown and Ventnor. The park was originally part of the grounds of an historic house, the old walled orchard now contains the park’s static 4/6 berth caravans. The orchard is traffic-free. There are also two centrally-heated apartments situated above the bar/entertainments room, suitable for 6-8 people.   The camping field has marked pitches, free showers, washing-up room and toilet/bathroom for disabled. Lower Hyde is located on the outskirts of Shanklin, and is close to the sandy, sunshine beaches of southeast Wight. From the park you can explore all the beauty the island has to offer, and for the more energetic there’s 65 miles of coastal path to be explored. Lower Hyde is ideally located as it is close enough to walk to the town centre, and yet once you are on the park its wooded undulating setting lets you enjoy your holiday in the Islands rural setting. At Lower Hyde we have 4 wheelchair accessible units, these each have a ramp to the door and inside are designed to be more roomy and have grab rails in the toilet, and a monkey bar fitting in the bedroom. The showers are not accessible in a wheelchair and have a large lip of at least 6 inches that would need to be stepped over.
