We are committed to meeting your needs and ensuring your journey with us is as simple and pleasurable as possible.
Wightlink offers a discount to holders of the ‘Wightlink Disabled Persons Card’. For details and an application form, please telephone 0871 376 4342.
Many of our ticket offices and ships were built before the Disability Discrimination Act came into force, but we endeavour to ensure that as much of Wightlink as possible is accessible to all our Passengers with a disability.
To ensure that the best possible service is provided customers should make Wightlink staff aware of their needs at the time of booking and on arrival at the ports of departure.
Facilities at our ports:
Portsmouth (Gunwharf) Car Ferry Terminal

There is ground level access to the ticket office, retail café facilities and toilet facilities.

Disabled toilet facilities can be found at the ticket office in the main terminal building and the toilet block situated at the main entrance.

A hearing loop is available at the ticket office counter.

A wheelchair is available for use upon request. Unfortunately we cannot accept any reservation for the use of wheel chairs in advance.

Our vessels are easily accessed by wheelchair users and pedestrians, please ask a member of staff if you require assistance.

To collect tickets and information there is limited parking available at the ticket office.
Fishbourne Car Ferry Terminal

There is ground level access to the ticket office, retail café facilities and toilet facilities.

Disabled toilet facilities can be found at the ticket office in the main terminal building.

Café facilities can be found near to the pedestrian access for the car ferry.

A wheelchair is available for use upon request. Unfortunately we cannot accept any reservation for the use of wheel chairs in advance.

Portsmouth Harbour (no vehicular access)

Easy links to trains, buses and taxis which are accessible by ramps.

There is ramped access to the ticket office, retail café facilities and toilet facilities which are all in the main terminal building.

Disabled toilet facilities can be found in the main terminal building.

A wheelchair is available for use upon request. Unfortunately we cannot accept any reservation for the use of wheel chairs in advance

Our vessels are accessible to wheelchair users, but please be aware that the incline of the ramp to the vessel is affected by high and low tides.

Securing clamps are available on the vessels for wheelchairs.

Ryde Pier

Easy links to trains, and taxis which are accessible by ramps, buses are available a short train ride away.

There are a limited number of disabled car parking bays available, car parking charges do apply.

Yarmouth Car Ferry Terminal

- There is ground level access to the ticket office and toilet facilities.
- Disabled toilet facilities can be found in the main terminal building.
- A wheelchair is available for use upon request. Unfortunately we cannot accept any reservation for the use of wheel chairs in advance.
- Our vessels are easily accessed by wheelchair users but assistance from a staff member will be required. Please notify a member of staff on arrival at the port if you will be boarding the vessel in a wheel chair.
- To collect tickets and information there is limited parking available at the ticket office.
Facilities on board our car ferries
On both the Portsmouth - Fishbourne route and the Lymington – Yarmouth route all vessels have lifts between the car decks and passenger lounges. There are disabled toilet facilities on the same level as the passenger lounges.
We recommend you advise us at the time of booking and on arrival at the port if you require access to the lift, but please be aware that we cannot guarantee to place your vehicle beside the lift as there is limited space in this area of the ship.
Ramps are available to help wheelchair users access the lift from and to the car decks.
Guide/Assistance Dogs
Assistance dogs travel free of charge on all of our vessels, they are not restricted to travelling in the areas designated to other animals
