Easter on the Isle of Wight

Easter is just around the corner, leaving you with two weeks of memory-making opportunity to fill with the school holidays. So why not head to the Isle of Wight? It’s full of quintessential British beauty and has its own Island magic. Families can really get away from it all without the drama of the stress of airport queues and the drama of leaving your passport behind.

And don’t forget you can take the kids to the Isle of Wight for free during the Easter holidays (27 March – 15 April 2024). Under 5s always travel free with Wightlink but when the schools break up, you can also take up to two children aged 5-15 for free with every adult or senior foot passenger day return ticket.

The Great Railway Easter Hunt

Follow the clues as you hunt for Easter eggs at The Isle of Wight Steam Railway’s Havenstreet station. If you can find them all you can claim your prize!

Make your own Easter Bonnet for the parade and enjoy daily falconry displays. To top off your day, embark on a springtime ride through the Island’s picturesque countryside. Look out of the windows to see ancient woodlands, rolling fields of green, pretty bluebells and more. It’s the perfect Easter treat.

Hop into an egg-citing Easter adventure at Tapnell Farm Park, from 29 March to 12 April 2024, for an all-weather, fun-filled experience offering a barn-full of Farm Park Fun alongside special Easter activities that will delight visitors of all ages. Embark on an Easter Farm Quest, where young explorers can search high and low for hidden Easter eggs around the Farm Park with letters inside, to unscramble an egg-cellent puzzle for a sweet prize! Interact and engage with a variety of animals with daily activities and unleash your competitive spirit with the Tapnell Olympics.

Dive headfirst into the enchanting world of Alice’s Easter Wonderland at Tapnell Farm Park, from 2 – 4 and 9 – 11 April 2024. Join in the madness and prepare to be dazzled by ‘six impossible things before breakfast’, including Potions with Alice (small fee applies), Circus Games with the White Rabbit, and the Queen of Heart’s Easter Party. Plus, explore the twists and turns of the Mad Hatter’s Maze – it’s bound to be a world of wonder!  Don’t be late for this very important date!

Adventure Quest at Osborne

Between 23 March – 14 April 2024 you can embark on a thrilling and exciting adventure with the Easter Adventure Quest at Osborne, Queen Victoria and Prince Albert’s family home.

Discover the stunning grounds of Osborne House as you search for clues and face various challenges. Track down the hidden Easter eggs and earn a well-deserved adventurer’s certificate, and indulge in a chocolate treat as a reward for your successful hunt. The quest costs just £2 in addition to the usual ticket price, which you can pay when you arrive at the site.  Also happening from 6 – 14 April, get creative with Osborne’s master builders and help us bring history to life at the The Big Brick Build.

Easter at Carisbrooke Castle

Embark on an egg-citing adventure at Carisbrooke Castle this Easter break; explore the castle grounds, follow clues, and hunt down Easter eggs to earn delicious chocolate-y rewards between 23 March and 14 April 2024. The castle is in the heart of the Isle of Wight, steeped in history from the Norman Conquest to Charles I. Home to the famous Carisbrooke donkeys.

The quest is available every day throughout the Easter holidays, and costs just £2 per child to take part. Simply pay upon arrival at the site; booking in advance is not required. Don’t miss out on this cracking opportunity!
