<p>This route offers eight miles of fairly easy walking along the southern cliff tops, punctuated by the narrow gullies, known as Chines, which are so much a feature of this coastline. Whale Chine is particularly impressive and at Blackgang Chine there’s a family theme park. There are more stunning views as you cross Niton Down and keep your eye open for the Pepper Pot, the remains of a medieval lighthouse, and the Salt Cellar, an unfinished 18th century lighthouse.</p>
