The Wind in the Willows – 26 July 2019, Ventnor Botanic Garden
Join Mole, Ratty and Badger on their mad-cap adventures in this heart-warming tale of friendship, mishap and mayhem in Quantum Theatre’s brand new outdoor adaptation of Kenneth Grahame’s family favourite, The Wind in the Willows.
Bohemian Rhapsody outdoor cinema – 27 July 2019, Mottistone Gardens
This is the must see film this summer! It’s time to let your hair down and enjoy the greatest hits of Queen in the relaxed and beautiful setting of Mottistone Gardens. This beautiful National Trust property is set in a sheltered valley and features a colourful herbaceous garden. There is an attractive Elizabethan manor house, as well as The Shack, a unique cabin retreat designed in the 1930s as an office by architect John Seely.
A Star is Born outdoor cinema – 28 July 2019, Ventnor Park
This is the perfect film to form part of the Ventnor Fringe: it’s about finding your talent, the creative spark between two people and the unexpected journey to fame. If you haven’t seen A Star is Born on the big screen, now is your chance. From the beginning you’ll know you’re in for a ride! Ventnor Park will be hosting plenty of events as part of the Ventnor Fringe Festival. There will be a lively bar and delicious hot food at the park!
A Midsummer Night’s Dream – 28 July 2019, Ventnor Botanic Garden
Set on the most dangerous of nights, when fairies are abroad and nothing is as it seems, four young, unsuspecting lovers become entangled in their magical affray and soon no mortals are safe in those bewitched and bewitching woods outside Athens… Quantum theatre’s production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream has received a fantastic response from audiences all over the country.
Mamma Mia 2 outdoor cinema – 16 August 2019, Ventnor Botanic Garden
Ventnor Botanic Gardens is one of the warmest places in Britain and the gardens themselves are subtropical – so close your eyes and let the warm sea breeze transport you to your Greek Island as you belt out a few classic songs. Mamma Mia, here we go again!
The Garden will open its own restaurant for the evening and will be serving pizzas for any hungry singers! There will also be a bar and popcorn beside the cinema.
The Greatest Showman outdoor cinema – 17 August 2019, Bembridge Windmill
See The Greatest Showman; one of the most exciting musicals to hit the screen in many years at a new venue for The Extraordinary Travelling Film Show. The Windmill is a stunning location with great views over Bembridge Harbour and the surrounding hills. There will be light bites, soft drinks and ice cream available from the National Trust shop. There’ll also be a bar with beer and wine on sale as well as freshly made popcorn.
The Greatest Showman outdoor cinema – 26 August 2019, Tapnell Farm
As part of their Thursday Summer Shindigs, Tapnell Farm Park is hosting a free screening of everyone’s favourite musical! Bring the whole family for a night of fun. Feel free to bring a picnic to enjoy. There will also be a BBQ and an outdoor bar with food and drink available to purchase on the night.
Grease outdoor cinema – 31 August 2019, Mottistone Gardens
Rama-Lama Ding-Dong! Don’t miss Olivia Newton John and John Travolta in one of the most popular musicals of all time; Grease. ’Summer Lovin’ never sounded so good… Don’t miss this all-time classic under the stars at one of the best gardens on the island. You are more than welcome to bring your own food and drink to this venue.
