Inspirational Islanders: Aaron and Tim from 77:78

Card-carrying members from arguably one of the Island’s most famous and well respected bands, The Bees, Tim and Aaron have come together to recreate the magic with  77:78. Aaron currently lives in Brighton and Tim lives in Bembridge…

“The best place on the Island has to be Priory Bay for family walks along Seagrove Bay and Priory Bay. We like to walk to the far end where the ruined old sea wall is. It’s a lush spot on a sunny day, you could be anywhere in the world. The water is so clear these days. We feel very blessed to have such a beautiful spot on our doorstep.

Rhythmtree Festival is definitely the greatest event. We’ve been going for a few years now and have also been lucky enough to perform twice on the main stage. A few years back with The Bees and last year 77:78 played on the Sunday evening. It was amazing. It’s always nice to play to a home crowd.

Most of the fondest memories we have of growing up on the Island involves music. A lot of time was spent at the IW Music Centre, The IW Youth Concert Band, as well as playing with quite a few other jazz, pop and soul bands.”
