Wightlink in the Community
Consideration will be given to youth sporting teams or organisations that support youth development on the Isle of Wight – to encourage participation, help them excel and, where applicable, travel to the mainland to compete or perform at events.
2025 applications are now open
To apply for sponsorship, please download and complete the Wightlink in the Community sponsorship application form.
Once finished, send your completed form to [email protected] no later than 31 October 2024.
We’ll let you know by mid-December whether your application has been successful.
Wightlink’s next community sponsorship scheme will cover the period 1 January 2025 to 31 December 2025. We understand that not all sporting teams’ seasons tie into this period and will take this into consideration.
Who we support: individual athletes and performers
We’re proud of the men and women from the Isle of Wight dedicated to being the best in their sporting genre and continue to support the Isle of Wight Council’s Talented Athlete Scheme.
Requests for individual athlete sponsorship must be made directly to the council’s sports unit – unfortunately, we don’t accept applications from individuals directly as all our support runs through the Scheme. For more information, visit the Council’s Talented Athlete Scheme page.
Alec Broome, Sports Development Officer at the Isle of Wight Council, said: “The sponsorship Wightlink offers enables these sports persons the opportunity to train and compete at a level not accessible on the Island.
“Regular competition and top level coaching is vital for any athlete to reach their full potential. Without the support of Wightlink many of these athletes would not have the opportunity to test their skills and see how far they can progress.”
