Vacancy: Café Steward (Fixed Term)

Our Retail Operation Teams are looking for ideally barista-trained, passionate, motivated and customer-focused individuals to join our teams in our retail outlets at our ports.

  • Portsmouth Gunwharf, Lymington, and Ryde port cafes

  • 20-35 rostered hours per week, across 3-5 days, covering weekends and bank holidays

  • £11.08 per hour (£9.50 per hour whilst training)

Key elements of the role are:

  • Making the full range of drinks and beverages including Barista
  • Providing a fast and friendly customer service
  • Accurate till operation
  • Strong presentation of a range of food and beverages
  • Accurate stock takes and checks
  • Maintaining high standards of cleanliness

We are looking to recruit smart, enthusiastic, customer focused Barista trained individuals to join us at our ashore retail outlet for our summer period. Successful candidates will be Barista-trained, friendly, courteous and helpful in their communications with customers; reliable, conscientious and flexible in their approach to their duties.

A good standard of education, numeracy and literacy skills are essential. Safety is a critical element of our operation, so the ability to respond positively to instruction and to communicate clearly and with confidence are also essential features of the role.

As a Café Steward, you will be employed on a fixed term contract to help cover our Summer period from May until October 2022. You will be required to work across all days of the week including when required weekends and Bank Holidays.

You can expect to receive full training and familiarisation within a friendly working environment. Working an average 20-35 hour working week an hourly pay rate of £11.08 will be applicable after training (£9.50 whilst training).
