Vacancy: Marketing Executive

We are looking to recruit a dynamic, multi-skilled Marketing Executive to work within the existing in-house team and alongside our marketing agencies.  Based at our head office in Portsmouth, close to Gunwharf Quays, this hands-on role requires strong organisational skills, the ability to calmly manage multiple campaigns and priorities. Along with a winning smile, you’ll have great attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a positive can-do attitude.

  • 35 hours per week

Key elements of the role are:

  • Create engaging content across all marketing channels, including websites, social media, and print advertising
  • Ensure Wightlink’s messaging and branding is consistent throughout content
  • Working alongside our marketing agencies to execute all campaign activity
  • Setting up and assisting with Wightlink’s regular direct email marketing campaigns
  • Managing Wightlink’s printed promotional and corporate collateral including direct mail, leaflets, and newsletters
  • Work with Wightlink’s marketing agency and internal team to deliver the booked advertising plan
  • Evaluation of all marketing activity and spend, reporting on customer engagement and ROI to help develop future campaigns
  • Support internal and external communication delivery and presentations
  • Additional duties as required by management

About you

You’ll have experience in running B2C marketing campaigns across online and offline channels, coming from an in-house or agency background, as well as strong written communication skills and excellent attention to detail – particularly when it comes to proofreading. You’ll be a capable copywriter, too.

You’ll have a good understanding of layout aesthetics for advertising and best-practice design principles. The right candidate will continue to be curious and learn about marketing developments, too, through leadership, technology, platforms, and channels.

You’ll be confident with MS Office, particularly Word, Outlook & Excel, with the ability to be trained in new software solutions. Ideally, you’ll also have experience of using CMS systems and/or WordPress, email CRM software, Google Analytics and will have hands-on experience with HTML and CSS. A knowledge of Photoshop is a bonus.

You’ll have knowledge of SEO principles for content creation and page optimisation.

As well as this, you’ll be highly organised and can perform well in a fast-paced environment. We’re looking for a hardworking, driven individual with the ability to work on your own initiative.
