Travel confidently with Wightlink – free familiarisation ferry trips

At Wightlink, we believe everyone should be able to travel confidently, independently and without worry. Whether you’re travelling alone, with a group or supporting someone with additional needs, we’re here to help make your journey as smooth and stress-free as possible.

To support this, we offer free return foot passenger familiarisation trips on any of our services. These trips are designed for individuals or groups who would like to experience the journey in advance, helping to reduce any anxiety about travelling alone.

If you’re a charity or organisation, we can arrange an escorted familiarisation trip for your group on any of our three routes. One of our team members will accompany you throughout the journey to show you:

• How to check in and board the ferry

• The onboard facilities and layout

• What to expect during the crossing

• How to safely disembark at the end of the trip

You’ll stay on board for the full round trip, so there’s no need to worry about planning a return journey. We’ll take care of the booking and all arrangements — you just need to arrive at the port, and we’ll handle the rest.
