Yarmouth on the Isle of Wight is a quaint town located on the west side of the Island. With a lively harbour, cobbled streets, a great selection of pubs, restaurants and even a pier – this small town will offer you plenty to do.

Where is Yarmouth?

Yarmouth is a small town located on the west side of the Isle of Wight on the south coast of the UK. Its name originates from being situated at the mouth of the River Yar. The town is a short distance from the popular holiday destination of Freshwater, as well as being next to the village of Norton.

The town faces Lymington on the mainland, from where we operate our Yarmouth ferry service.

The town may be small, but there’s plenty of places for you to stay with the option of hotels or self-catering accommodation, whichever you prefer. The George Hotel and The Bugle Coaching Inn are popular choices for people looking to stay local.

Things to do in Yarmouth

West Wight offers plenty of things to see and do, just as much as the rest of the Island. There are multiple Yarmouth restaurants such as On the Rocks and Off the Rails that are a great place to eat. As well as having many shops, Yarmouth is no stranger to a pub – you’ll be spoilt for choice with the Wheatsheaf Inn, The Kings Head and many more all within walking distance.
