A must-see for any budding botanist – or simply anyone who enjoys a nice stroll among the wildlife – Ventnor Botanic Garden is home to over 30,000 rare and subtropical plants.
The only National Nature Reserve on the Island, Newtown is particularly picturesque, with footpaths among the wildlife that lead down to the scenic harbour. Two bird hides provide the perfect spot for watching.

As you can’t travel there right now, we’re bringing the Isle of Wight to you. So we’ve been in touch with people across the Island to see what they’ve been getting up to during the coronavirus lockdown, giving you a peak inside their lives.
