Adgestone Vineyard

Adgestone Vineyard is one of those places that easily becomes a holiday highlight.

Set within 10 acres of vines with sea views, it’s the UK’s oldest continuously operating commercial vineyard. You can wander around the vineyard on an audio-guided tour, head underground into the atmospheric cellars, then settle in for a friendly, no-nonsense wine tasting that demystifies the whole process from grape to glass.

What really sets Adgestone apart is its playfulness. Alongside award-winning English wines, you’ll find the UK’s only blue sparkling wine, small-batch wines made from fruits and flowers, indulgent liqueurs and the famously fiery Arson Fire chilli sauces. The farm shop is a treasure trove of Island produce, gifts and wines you won’t find anywhere else.

In the warmer months, the vineyard garden comes alive with live music, cold platters and a laid-back atmosphere that makes you want to stay for “just one more glass”. Family-run and proud, the team welcome you like friends, which is exactly why so many people describe it as one of their favourite places they visit on the Island.

Whether you’re a wine lover, a curious first-timer or simply looking for a memorable afternoon out, Adgestone Vineyard proves that great wine doesn’t have to take itself too seriously.
