One of the UK’s longest-running walking festivals returns to the Isle of Wight in 2020 between 2 May and 17 May.
The Isle of Wight Walking Festival is your opportunity to experience some of the Island’s stunning – and often hidden – scenery, from the gorgeous cliff faces of the west coast to the rolling green hills of the east.
There will be over 100 unique guided walks you can follow over the two week programme, ranging from light walks across flat plains to more challenging hikes across hilly but spectacular terrain. Some will introduce you to wildlife, others will tell their own stories of the Isle of Wight’s fascinating past.
A walker’s paradise, half the Island is designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with over 60 miles of unblemished coastline to take in and more than 500 miles of signposted, well-kept footpaths to tread.
All walks will be led by dedicated volunteers with extensive walking experience and brimming with local knowledge.
If you’re looking for somewhere to stay during your visit, there are a wealth of picturesque hotels and charming cottages available across the Island – head over to our Wightlink Explorer accommodation section to find out more and book.
So what are you waiting for? Dust off your boots, hop on a Wightlink ferry and set off on your very own walking tour across the beautiful Isle of Wight countryside.
