Celebrate the unique harmony between nature, community and culture at the Isle of Wight Biosphere Festival 2026.

Spanning nine days, this vibrant festival invites locals and visitors alike to explore the Island’s rich biodiversity and creative spirit through a broad array of events and activities. The Isle of Wight is one of just seven UNESCO Biosphere Reserves in the UK, recognised for its special mix of wildlife, landscapes, people and sustainable living.

Festival highlights

  • Island-wide events: Engage in over 40 events, including nature walks, art workshops, storytelling sessions and more, all designed to showcase the IOW’s ecological and cultural treasures
  • Permaculture Island: A behind-the-scenes look at Permaculture Island, the resilient smallholding featured on TV’s New Lives in the Wild with Ben Fogle.
  • Night-time nature walks: See the world through the eyes of an insect on a UV night-time guided walk, offering a fascinating new perspective on the Island’s wildlife.
  • Marine adventures: Explore the Island’s underwater world with activities including freediving and rockpool safaris, with a chance to discover seagrass meadows alongside local marine photographer Theo Vickers.
  • Yoga at Compton Bay: Slow down and reconnect at Ocean Flow Yoga, overlooking the beautiful shores of Compton Bay.
  • Sound and landscape: Experience an immersive audio installation inside a medieval church, turning the surrounding landscape into sound.
