Donkeys at Isle of Wight Donkey Sanctuary

Isle of Wight Donkey Sanctuary

The Isle of Wight Donkey Sanctuary was first established in 1987 to provide any donkey in distress or otherwise in need of care and attention, a safe and permanent home on the Isle of Wight.

The sanctuary is open all year round, seven days a week, from 10:00am till 4:30pm*. There is no need to book, just come along on the day, to stroke, pet and fuss over the donkeys and ponies.

With over 140 donkeys and ponies, everyone is welcome to come and visit including well behaved dogs, who can enjoy over 55 acres of beautiful countryside.  The charity relies entirely on donations, adoptions and the many fundraising activities held throughout the year.

Enjoy some tasty food in the Grazers Café and pop into the Browse and Brays Café, where adoptions can be made.

The Isle of Wight Donkey Sanctuary is based between Shanklin and Ventnor on the road to Wroxall and has free entry and free parking.
