Discounted Fares Scheme

The Discounted Fare Scheme enables Isle of Wight residents that meet the eligibility of ‘low income’ households to access travel to the mainland for work, health or leisure purposes. It will provide a fixed price discounted scheme and will apply to cars, motorbikes or foot passengers wishing to travel on any of our routes across the Solent.

Eligible applicants for the scheme include Isle of Wight residents claiming the following benefits:

  • Council tax support
  • Housing Benefit

If you wish to travel under the discounted fares scheme, please fill out the form below. This will generate an automated verification email which will be sent to the Isle of Wight Council to assess your eligibility. Once validated by the council, you will then receive a welcome email from us with terms and conditions and a dedicated customer account and ID. If you have an existing account, you will simply have the information on your account updated.

The discount will then be applied automatically each time you book using your customer ID online or over the phone. An electronic ticket is generated with each booking which must be shown at the terminal on departure along with a form of photo ID. A minimum of seven working days in advance of travel is required for eligibility checks to be processed and the normal check in and travel terms will apply to all bookings made.

The Discounted Fare Scheme cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer, promotion or Tesco Clubcard vouchers.
