We know how important it is to provide up to date travel information to our customers, so we update our Service status regularly throughout the day. We’ll update it again if any of our services are delayed by more than 20 minutes and keep it updated until our usual service resumes.

Service suspended from Wednesday, 1 April 2020.
We will be suspending our Lymington-Yarmouth route from the last sailing on Tuesday 31 March, until normal services can be restored. This is because of the escalating Coronavirus outbreak. Volumes of traffic on this route have fallen dramatically following the Government’s direction to non-essential workers to stay at home and we have sufficient capacity on our Portsmouth-Fishbourne car ferries to carry all freight and other essential services to the Isle of Wight.
Suspending the route will minimise the dangers to our colleagues and customers contracting COVID_19 and the disease spreading into the community and also enable us to use some key skills of our colleagues on that route to reinforce our major freight route between Portsmouth-Fishbourne. Wightlink are determined to keep open our principal car ferry route at Portsmouth-Fishbourne and taking this action now will really help us to do that through the crisis.

Reduced service from 06.00 Tuesday, 7 April 2020.
Bookings should be made for essential travel only following HM Government guidelines.
We will be reducing our Portsmouth-Fishbourne car ferry service to a two hourly service on one of our largest ships from 06.00 Tuesday, 7 April 2020.
These changes are being made because very few people need to cross the Solent at this time. They also minimise the dangers of COVID-19 spreading to Wightlink staff and into the community.
To limit the exposure to our teams and others, essential travellers travelling by vehicle are asked to check in at least 15 minutes but no more than one hour before the scheduled sailing time and foot passengers at least 15 minutes before the scheduled sailing time.
*Restricted sailings Monday to Friday. Booking essential.

Service suspended from Tuesday, 7 April 2020.
We will be suspending our Portsmouth Harbour – Ryde Pier Head FastCat foot passenger service from Tuesday, 7 April until normal services can be restored. These changes are being made because very few people need to cross the Solent at this time. They also further minimise the dangers of COVDID-19 spreading to Wightlink staff and into the community.
Under the leadership of Isle of Wight Council during the COVID-19 crisis, all cross-Solent operators are working together to keep the Island connected. Wightlink’s foot passenger tickets will be accepted on Hovertravel and Red Funnel. This includes rail tickets and season tickets.
