Find out whether your ferry is running on time using our live service status. Below, simply select the route you’re travelling on and you’ll see expected departure and arrival times for the next few hours.

Please check in for your sailing between one hour and half an hour before your scheduled departure time. If your sailing is delayed, please check in half an hour before your scheduled crossing time as you would normally – we’ll be working hard to make up the time. 

If the sailing you’ve booked on is cancelled, we’ll be in touch with you directly to let you know what you can do.

Restricted foot passenger sailings

On certain sailings, we have to restrict the number of customers who are able to travel. All foot passengers must book in advance on these sailings – please check these sailings before turning up at the port without a booking, as we may not be able to accommodate you.

Harbour FastCat - Temporary Boarding and Discharge Changes

Sept 2025- April 2026

The ongoing essential maintenance of the gangway and berth improvements at our Portsmouth Harbour port means there is a change to the way customers will board and disembark the FastCat.

Instead of using our usual ‘North End’ gangway to get on and off the FastCat, customers will use our ‘South End’ gangway at the opposite end of the port instead. Boarding the FastCat this way includes a steep slope, a small number of steps and a narrow gangway on to the FastCat which means we need to take extra care of what can safely travel on the vessel.

Due to the changes, we are unable to accommodate the following embarking or disembarking on any sailings from Portsmouth Harbour and Ryde Pier Head:

  • Bicycles

  • Wheelchairs

  • Mobility scooters

  • Prams and pushchairs

If you’re travelling with heavy luggage, please ensure you’re able to navigate the slope, steps and narrow gangway safely. Customers with any of the needs above must use our Car Ferry service from Portsmouth to Fishbourne. Alternatively, Hovertravel will accept all Wightlink tickets, especially for those customers requiring accessible travel.

There are no changes to boarding or disembarking at Ryde Pier Head.
