Camels head across Solent for County Show

They are known as the ships of the desert, but a team of camels will be boarding a very different vessel on their way to perform at the Royal Isle of Wight County Show next month.
The racing team from Joseph’s Amazing Camels will cross the Solent on a Wightlink ferry before wowing the crowds at the County Showground at Northwood.
The camels are set to be one of the highlights of the two-day event on July 11 and 12, racing around the arena in front of thousands of visitors.
The Royal Isle of Wight County Show is one of the Island’s best-loved annual events, celebrating the Isle of Wight’s rural heritage and community.
Wightlink has joined NFU Mutual Isle of Wight in sponsoring the camel attraction, which is being brought to the show by Warwickshire-based Joseph’s Amazing Camels.
The company is the UK’s leading camel hire provider, supplying camels for films, television productions and events across the country.
Other attractions at this year’s show include giant tortoises, the Shetland Pony Grand National, a rodeo bull ride, vintage tractors, a fun dog show, livestock classes, a funfair, food market and craft stalls.
