The Awakening gets away from it all with Wightlink this summer

The Awakening, the new festival of wellbeing and self-care taking place on 8th and 9th June on the Isle of Wight, brought the good vibes to visitors and Islanders alike with an on-board yoga session this week.

Event organiser, Kate Taylor — a leading well-being, life design & empowerment coach and author — is working closely with Wightlink to highlight the Island as the ultimate destination for all things wellbeing and ‘getting away from it all’, and used the crossing on the Solent with practitioners involved with the wellbeing festival to highlight the Isle of Wight’s gentler pace of life and how slowing things down is great for health and wellbeing.

Kate explains, “I grew up on the Isle of Wight, and has long been a haven of sanctuary for people seeking to slow things down, by getting connected to the beauty of the Island. I created The Awakening as a love letter to the place I call ‘home’, and curating an event of wellbeing and self-care on the Island is the ultimate gift for those coming to the event from both on and off the Island.”

The Awakening takes place on Saturday 8 and Sunday 9 June 2019, and brings with it a host of well-being and self-development experts to the Isle of Wight, including Jessica Huie MBE, David Wells and Eminé Rushton, alongside some of the Island’s best holistic heroes.

The Saturday offers over 40 sessions throughout the day — including wellness workshops from some of the leading lights of the self-development world, alongside yoga, movement meditation and relaxation classes, as well as inspiring talks and self-care sessions. As well the programme of events throughout the day, there will be the opportunity to enjoy holistic therapy treatments such as with massage, reflexology and aromatherapy. On the Sunday the Ultimate Chill Session will include a gentle yoga and breath work session followed by a deeply relaxing Yoga Nidra and sound bath.

The Awakening Weekend takes place at Weston Manor House in Totland on the Isle of Wight on Saturday 8 June from 10am – 6pm and Sunday 9 June from 10am – 1pm. Early Bird tickets start from £55 for Saturday entry. Tickets and information available at: www.awakeningfestival.co.uk.
