Priority Boarding

Priority boarding

In a hurry? Got places to be? Simply like beating the queues? Be one of the first vehicles on and off the ferry with Wightlink Priority Boarding.

It’s available when booking direct on most car ferries on our Portsmouth to Fishbourne route for just £12.50 per crossing. A maximum of ten cars can secure Priority Boarding spaces.

So grab your coffee, guarantee yourself one of the best seats on board and get back out on the open road before you know it.

What you’ll get with Priority Boarding:

  • You’ll arrive and check in at the same time as everyone else but get a designated Priority Boarding lane, reducing your queuing time before boarding.
  • You’ll be among the first vehicles to board the ferry and then to disembark on the other side.

Priority boarding can be booked for cars up to 5 metres in length and 2.24 metres in height and on sailings between 07:00 and 19:00. You’ll need to check in on time (at least 30 minutes before your scheduled sailing) to ensure your priority spot on board.

Unfortunately, Priority Boarding is not available on cars with trailers of any kind.

How to book Priority Boarding

If Priority Boarding is available on your chosen sailing, you’ll see it as an Extra on Step 3 when booking your sailing online. If you’re booking over the phone, you can ask to add Priority Boarding to your crossing.

Already have a booking and want to add Priority Boarding on? Head to your account and choose to amend the booking you’d like to add Priority Boarding to. Follow the steps and, if it’s available, Priority Boarding will show as an Extra.

You must arrive at least 30 minutes before your scheduled sailing time, but no more than one hour in advance.
