Ryde is a beautiful seaside town on the north-east coast of the Isle of Wight. Our port sits at the end of the historic Ryde Pier, which is also home to an Island Line train station.
This route is our quickest crossing for foot passengers, with a journey time of just 22 minutes on our FastCats, <a href="https://lab.wightlink.co.uk/facilities/ferries/wight-ryder-i">Wight Ryder I</a> and <a href="https://lab.wightlink.co.uk/facilities/ferries/wight-ryder-ii">Wight Ryder II</a>.
A new walkway has now opened along the pier, allowing pedestrians to walk up and down the structure separately from cars and bicycles using the vehicle lane. Parking is available at the end of the pier &#8211; see the prices below.

Fishing on Ryde Pier
Ryde Pier is a great place to spend a few hours fishing. You can buy daily and annual fishing permits from the car park machines on the pier – just use the yellow button to find the option you want, then the green button to find out the price and make payment.
Wightlink staff and the parking patrol officers will ask to see your permit when they’re on their rounds.
Please fish responsibly and don’t leave any litter behind when you go home.

Ryde Pier Head

Based in the beautiful seaside town on the north-east coast of the Isle of Wight, our Ryde Pier Head port connects with Portsmouth on the mainland. Get info on facilities, public transport links, parking and more.

Car parking at the port is available and if you intend to use the car park regularly you can <a href="https://www.wightlink.co.uk/facilities/parking/permit">save with a 30-day Parking Permit</a>.
There is a weight restriction of three tonnes and a height restriction of 2.25 metres for all vehicles using the pier as well as a 10mph speed limit, which also applies to cyclists.
Drivers exceeding this limit will be issued a fixed penalty notice of £80 and/or face exclusion from Wightlink property and vessels.
