Sometimes there is nothing better than spending the day with your dog. If that means spending the day in the pub, all the better! Many pubs on the Island allow dogs inside, whilst some go positively ‘woofy’ for your four-legged friend… Here, the Isle of Wight Pub Guide gives us their recommendations.
The Buddle Inn, Niton, has a treat menu for the discerning dog and you can even upload your doggie-selfie (dogfie??) to the Facebook page for fun and fame!
Take yourself and the pooch for a good walk on Culver Down, Sandown. When you make it to the top, rest a while with a pint at The Culver Haven Inn and say hello to the landlord’s own furry-friend.
The Kingston Arms, Cowes is a good, old-fashioned pub that is very welcoming of dogs and their owners. Treats are available at the bar.
There are so many walks to choose from where you can start, rest or finish at The Red Lion in Freshwater. Flagstone floors and leather armchairs makes this olde worlde charm at its best.
Visit historic Brading and spend some quality time with man’s best friend in Kynges Well. Settle in for the day in one of the comfy armchairs in the cosy bar area.
Discover the hidden gem that is The Bonchurch Inn near Ventnor. Looking like a proper British pub, the surprise is in the Italian menu on offer. The owners are very welcoming of dogs and there are some great walks close by.
